Why select this event?

The FIRST Robotics Competition Canadian Rockies Open brings teams from across Canada and around the world to Edmonton for an unforgettable celebration of creativity, innovation, and teamwork. Hosted in partnership with KDays, this event is part of a 10‑day festival filled with rides, games, concerts, food, and community spirit—an Edmonton summer tradition rooted in local history.

Our event takes place in the Edmonton EXPO Centre, Hall C, right on the KDays grounds. It is one of three major FIRST events showcased during the festival: FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST LEGO League on opening weekend and FIRST Tech Challenge as the finale. Together, these events highlight the full progression of FIRST programs and give thousands of visitors a chance to experience the power of youth robotics.

The FIRST Robotics Compeittion Canadian Rockies Open is an offseason competition running REBUILT. The event will be using an official FIRST field with FULL FMS and with NO modifications. Teams of all experience levels are welcome. We encourage Canadian teams to join us, and we are equally excited to welcome international teams who want to explore Alberta and be part of this unique celebration.

The more teams who participate, the more we can showcase the impact of FIRST—and the more fun we will have doing it.
