FIRST Tech Challenge Canadian Rockies Premier Event @ KDays

Premier Events are capstone events specifically focused on celebrating FIRST Tech Challenge teams. Teams earn advancement to Premier Events the same way as they earn advancement to the FIRST Championship, based on performance at their Regional Championship event.

Welcome to the FIRST Robotics Offseason Event! Get ready for a high-energy experience packed with innovation, teamwork, and fun! Here are some of the event highlights you won’t want to miss:

Awards and Recognition: Celebrate the achievements of teams and individuals throughout the event, from outstanding team spirit to innovative robot designs. Everyone’s hard work deserves recognition!

Live Robotics Competitions: Watch as teams battle it out in thrilling head-to-head matches. See robots in action, showing off their design, programming, and strategy skills in a fun, competitive environment.

STEM Workshops & Demonstrations: Take part in hands-on sessions where you can learn about robotics, engineering, and coding from industry professionals. Whether you’re a student or mentor, there’s something for everyone.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with other robotics enthusiasts, teams, mentors, and sponsors. This is the perfect chance to share ideas, collaborate, and get advice from experts in the field.

??Inspiring Guest Speakers??: We’re bringing in special guest speakers who have experience with FIRST and in the wider robotics world. You’ll hear their insights, tips, and stories to inspire your journey in STEM.

More Than Robots!: The FIRST Alberta Canadian Rockies Open @ KDays is much more than about the robot; it is a way to combine a great event with a vacation away from home! The vent is right on the ground of KDays, a great summer festival in Edmonton, a city full of activities. In addition, you can visit the Canadian Rockies not too far from where the event is held! Learn more about what you can do in addition to taking part in this great robotics event.

Get Involved

Whether you’re a student, mentor, sponsor, or volunteer, there are plenty of ways to get involved in our event. Join us in making this offseason event a success!

For Students

  • Compete: Form a team or join an existing team to compete in the various FIRST programs. Get hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robots, while learning important teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Learn: Attend workshops and talks to expand your knowledge in robotics, engineering, coding, and more. Explore career opportunities and build your network in the STEM community.

For Mentors

  • Guide the Next Generation: As a mentor, you’ll play a crucial role in guiding students through the design, build, and competition process. Help foster a love for robotics, problem-solving, and innovation while developing the next generation of engineers, programmers, and leaders.
  • Support and Inspire: Your experience and expertise will inspire students to reach their full potential, both on and off the field. Your involvement makes all the difference!
  • Join the Fun!: Pre-register here to join the exiting fun @ KDays this summer!

For Volunteers

  • Assist with Event Logistics: We need volunteers to help with event setup, registration, team coordination, and more! Your support will help ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing participants to focus on their robots and competitions.
  • Get Involved in the Action: Volunteers are also invited to help with scorekeeping, refereeing, and providing assistance to teams during matches. It’s a great way to get close to the excitement of the event!
  • To volunteer: Sign up for a volunteer position on your FIRST Dashboard. Search for “KDays” in the event finder and select the programs you would like to volunteer with. You can always contact us at kdays@firstalberta.ca to ask for more details about volunteer positions and volunteer opportunities.

For Sponsors

  • Support STEM Education: By sponsoring our event, you’ll be supporting the next generation of STEM leaders. Sponsors can help fund event costs, provide resources or expertise, and promote their brand to a passionate and engaged audience.
  • Engage with the Community: Sponsors will have opportunities to engage with participants, teams, and other supporters through branding, booths, and networking events.
